ABOUT KRISTI WELCH

For 15 years, I struggled deeply with social anxiety and depression, feeling trapped in a dark place and disconnected from society. This personal journey makes my mission as an artist especially meaningful. I understand the feeling of hopelessness, and art became a lifeline during those difficult years, offering a place of solace and self-expression. My work is rooted in the belief that, while we all carry personal burdens, we are connected by shared experiences of pain, healing, and growth. This connection is at the core of my art.
Beyond personal reflection, my work also embodies a dreamlike, expressive quality, often characterized by whimsical movement and peculiar mark-making. Art has always been where I escape reality, entering a space that I can only describe as otherworldly. Whether you call it the astral plane, a dreamworld, heavenly guidance, or the flow state, this space is where my creative process unfolds. When I free my mind and let my hand intuitively create, I access something that feels beyond this world—yet deeply connected to it. My creations emerge from pure instinct, channeling something greater than myself.
This blend of healing and the ethereal inspires the hope that my art fosters compassion, unity and serves as a reminder that none of us are truly alone...
We are always connected through spirit.
